[07/08/21-07/11/21] Anime Matsuri 2021 - Mignogna & Rekieta: Electric Boogaloo (Guest starring ComicsGate)

  • There is a bug with the post editor. Images pasted from other websites from your clipboard will automatically use the [img] tag instead of uploading a copy as an attachment. Please manually save the image, upload it to the site, and then insert it as a thumbnail instead if you experience this.

The [img] should essentially never be used outside of chat. It does not save disk space on the server because we use an image proxy to protect your IP address and to ensure people do not rely on bad third party services like Imgur for image hosting. I hope to have a fix from XF soon.

Anime Matsuri was the hotbed convention in 2019 with Vic Mignogna as a guest (Rueben Langdon was a bonus), Nick Rekieta held a panel with ThatUmbrellaGuy, Hero Hei, and Ty Beard, and Renfamous held a boycott at a bar across the street that only 5 people participated in.
See the 2019 thread here for coverage of the event.
Last year, Vic Mignogna was going to be a guest at the convention but COVID lockdowns caused the cancellation of the event.
Deniece Leigh, co-owner of the convention, stated that those who had purchased passes for what would have been the 2020 convention had their passes validated for the 2021 convention:

Vic Mignogna was announced as a guest for the 2021 convention on Anime Matsuri's YouTube channel:

Nick Rekieta has stated he will be hosting a panel, again, but with different panelists: Yellow Flash, ThatStarWarsGirl, and CecilSays (maybe Hero Hei, too).
UPDATE (07/09/2021): Hero Hei will not attend Anime Matsuri:
It is unknown if any of the panels will be streamed like in 2019, but if any are they will be posted in this thread.

If anyone is curious about other guests at the convention, here's the link:

What does Nick has to do with anime aside from the lawsuit? He isnt even that much of a weeb.
Even if he's not Vic's lawyer, he's pretty involved in the Vic saga. That's something. And I think the panel in general will be fandom in general, and how they clash with cancel culture.

Morgan Berry might be worth monitoring. She's a Funimation voice actress (though I think she's in California now), so if she pulls out last minute she might become a person of interest.

EDIT: Cougar'd by the typewriter.

I assume Yellow Flash will be in cosplay like he cosplayed as Kakashi at Bubba Fest 2019?
As for Cecil, I can't be bothered about what he does.
As for TUG, I haven't paid too much attention to him in a while to find out his excuse.
You think if Yellow Flash and Ron Soye ever walked by each other, they'd react like two aggressive tomcats? Except instead of hissing and violence, they'd have a super-annoying-faggot off?

So are yellow flash and Cecil going to wear masks? Is TUG left out because of all the gay ops or because Depp sperging and grifting pay better than the cartoon speds.
YF will be there in lisping glory with some cosplay or hat and mask--his words on a FlashCast I can't be arsed to find.
Cecil will be Cecil, and I don't know much more about him than his crazy drunk schtick.
TUG was pulling a 'will-I-won't-I' on a FlashCast (Angling for another GFM to pay for him to go? Or maybe just bc Vic drama is not his cash cow anymore?)

From my experience, Morgan Berry has a good head on her shoulders, similar to Brianna Knickerbocker in that regard.

Not everyone knows who @PocketJacks is, so your joke fell flat.
Unless you have a tweet or a video from him stating he'll be there, but I can't find anything to verify it.
If true, I would find it hilarious if someone cosplayed a giant cylinder and went around with one of those airport driver signs with his name on it looking for him.

Prolly couldn't get too explicit with the filmy friendly rules, but I would laugh if a giant black rod was walking around all day with a placard with Preston's name on it.
