The Daily Campus, UConn’s student publication, posted an editorial Monday ripping administrators for their “painfully slow and underwhelming” response to the video.
These people can never be satisfied, can they? We have expulsion and charges as fast as snitching can go, but no they would have to monitor social media 24/7 and even then it wouldn't be enough.

Certainly, it is blatantly unconstitutional. Unfortunately, it looks like Connecticut's trying to skirt the constitution by legislating at the state level.

Having the supreme court come down hard on it will make this and every other state think twice before trying to legislate manners.
Incorporation doctrine has been in place for a long time, you can't legislate it on state levels

This is all known supreme court precedent, the supreme court would not waste time on this case because its so facially obvious that they won't take it up.

Aside from the obvious free speech issue that law has, wouldn't they have to be calling a specific person a nigger for it to be ridicule based on race? Just walking through a parking lot yelling nigger isn't ridicule. Who would they be ridiculing? God?
Oh, they were calling God a nigger.
No.
Any person who, by his advertisement, ridicules or holds up to contempt any person or class of persons, on account of the creed, religion, color, denomination, nationality or race of such person or class of persons, shall be guilty of a class D misdemeanor.

This is a blasphemy law, although it will only be used against those who criticize creeds like veganism (for promoting malnutrition, or colors like... ones that would give you Vitamin D deficiency in a Connecticut winter. Regardless of the facts involved.

who’s the snitch though?
I assume this may be in the charging documents. I'm guessing for a state charge this may not be available yet?
