The Austin vintage market is pretty terrific— and very competitive pl: used to be a vendor/buyer. Most of the better vendors wouldn’t need to give anything away since anything unsold in the store can just be offered on Etsy or eBay. I think she’s just going to go straight for the prefab Joybird/Wayfair stuff as you mentioned.
Vintage dealers always end up with boxes of junk because they buy at auctions and estate sales - stuff that’s not even worth the effort of listing online. Esp because dealers buy box lots to get one or two items they really want, and then are stuck with the rest of the stuff in the lot. This is the level of Knick knacks I’m talking about, stuff they’d probably just trash in a month or two but will palm off on an idiot like Anna for a mention. (I’m sure Anna would aim for their higher ticket items but get shot down.)
Nobody gives Anna anything worth a damn - that includes the mega corporations. They pay far more for advertising their shitty products than making them. Giving Anna free crap is a good trade off. Give her one poorly made chair that cost them $20 and get 10 fatties to buy the same chair at $350. Works the same way as the hideous sweat shop clothes she hawks.
Anna is a perfect stereotype for dumb consumers. Everything about her taste and style revolves around bad IG fueled trends.
