But law enforcement isn't like your local representative, or a business, or the staff of a convention. Brianna Wu can't sign a petition or start a phone campaign to get somebody arrested. He hasn't hurt anyone except himself and the battle prius. Pro-GG people have been trying to get tons of people arrested for stuff. It hasn't worked because you can't lobby the police like that. It's the opposite if you ask me. Jace is right on the edge between staying a mostly-harmless crazy dude, and getting his life completely wrecked. He's already a felon in the state's eyes, and now he's got these petty, vindictive internet people trying to "win Gamergate" at his expense. I don't like it.
Jace is setting himself up as a target by saying that he isn't laying off the Tupacalypse. I mean, we know that he's a quasi-harmless joker, but when a person with relatively high visibility(Wu's a nobody but has still relatively large media coverage for a nobody) is complaining about some guy who keeps threatening her, eventually LE feels the PR pressure to step in.He hasn't hurt anyone except himself and the battle prius.
This. Its a double edged sword. Jace (should he get any kind of news during his internet blackout) will be thrilled with his 15 minutes of fame, but its going to bring also a lot of negative attention to him, which is unfortunate since he has a pretty good deal of that already. The thing I don't like about the Commander's new found fame is stupid amount of new weens that will come out of this.
People are calling Arlington since that's apparently where the Wu-Man lives.Of all the people who tried to get Jace sent to jail/murdered/institutionalized, I REALLY doubt we have anything to fear. I think you guys are giving these people a lot too much credit, and in doing so, validating their bullshit. Take a step back and look at this critically.
If he survived multiple attempts from Gamerfood to get him to suicide-by-police he can survive some attention whoring crybabies and faggy journalists. For all their faults Gamerfood is 30x more strategically cunning than Brianna could ever dream to be. Honestly, I was worried at first that he was going to get arrested for the crash, but that never happened... now, if what he says about not hearing anything from the cops is true, I really don't expect this to do any real harm to him. Worst case scenario, Arlington Dispatch has to brush off a few phone calls from male feminists in between their busy schedule of arresting drug dealers and Trayvon Browns... *cough*
Still NO clue why they're calling Arlington Dispatch of all places given that Jace lives in North Brookfield and this information is literally accessible via the front page of Google, especially because Arlington has much bigger fish to fry and they have no clue who Jace is since he lives halfway across the state. Just goes to show you though how clueless and ineffectual these people truly are in their imaginary "quest for social justice", though; they can't even get the fucking name of the town right, but they don't care. They just want to be able to whisper to themselves at night "I helped bring a deranged killer to justice"... and of course by this they mean "I spent 30 seconds Signal Boosting Tweets about how Death Threats Are Bad, and then I called the number I saw on Twitter and said Death Threats Are Bad And This Guy Made Them Please Arrest And Summarily Execute Him On The Orders Of The High Priestess Thank You"
Still laughing at Jezebel's "I found his real name" on the article. He says it in literally every other video. And Arlington... I mean fuck how long does it take to google PURKERDUDD91 WER HE LIV? Tyce is better at doxxing than these people.
Aside from that it's kind of notoriously difficult to get people actually arrested for threats/stalking/harassment until they do something else that's also illegal. I know a girl from college who was stalked by the same dude for literally 4 fucking years, throughout her entire higher education, despite him getting kicked out he still continued to constantly stalk and harass her off-campus despite her calling the police on literally countless occasions. They couldn't do anything from a legal standpoint and the only question they kept asking was "has he physically attacked you?" When she said "no", the conversation basically turned to "nothing we can do". So if the police don't give two shits about legitimately dangerous Elliot Roger motherfuckers, I REALLY doubt they're going to lift a finger to stop a "teen-minded internet warlord" armed with a Prius. I.E. The only "danger" Jace is facing here is being yelled at on YouTube comments... which he's certainly used to by now if nothing else.
One more thing... I like how several months ago when BuzzFeed picked him up Jace was just a "homophobic right-wing talk show host", now he's an "armed and mentally ill GamerGater". Kid's moving up in the world. Either that or Jezebel is full of shit, surprising literally nobody ever.
My concern is that this'll cause a bigger outcry because it means that years of neglect have lead to this (a big goofy dummy crashing his car on the highway and hurting only his dignity/pride). Let them clog the phone lines if they want to. Let them vent themselves into frustration and believe that they will be taken seriously(they won't), so by the time two lonely brain cells in their heads meet each other and they realize that nothing will be done about Jace because he's a harmless goofball, Wu's found a new cause of butthurt for her ass lappers to obsess over.People calling the cops on Jace isn't a new thing, it's been happening for years.
Being the shit media they are they'd probably take it out of context even if I say "for example- livestreamers who were swatted"My concern is that this'll cause a bigger outcry because it means that years of neglect have lead to this (a big goofy dummy crashing his car on the highway and hurting only his dignity/pride). Let them clog the phone lines if they want to.
Naw I wouldn't. Both sides of GG ignore things that don't fit the narrative or twist it so it fits the story their telling. A troll goading jace into doing this is less newsworthy then a crazy man threatening to kill a game dev. This is what Iwrote up "Firstly, Jace was contacted by a troll posing as Brianna Wu in order to screw with him. Jace felt intimidated and did what he has always done whenever weens show up...scream at his camera and end the livestream. Second...he hasn't hurt anyone but himself and the battle prius. People calling the cops on Jace isn't a new thing, it's been happening for years. And it's failed every time. Stop bothering the police about this, and let them do what they need to do...their damn jobs. they aren't Brianna's personal security guards. " Should I post it?
That's part of it, but I think the main reason she doesn't mention his name is because she's a self-obsessed, shamelessly histrionic attention whore. She wants to be the focus of all of the attention, and it's a lot easier to do that by battling a nameless enemy.I suspect
WuFlynt is calling Jace "the Commander" to make it harder for people to look him up and see how ridiculous this is.
I'm sure they also told her that they're going to do something about it, as well as the budget, national defense, national security, privacy, social security, healthcare, and whatever else triggers voters into voting.I dunno if this is the right thread for this but this seems pretty crazy.
It's pointless to post it. Unless you're an extablished member of Gawker's commenting crew you'll never get out of the grey but will be mocked by the regulars just because they can. This is what Iwrote up "Firstly, Jace was contacted by a troll posing as Brianna Wu in order to screw with him. I tried to post my romance fic, but all comments require approval from a moderator and I don't think they'll approve of my steamy prose. Here it is for anyone interested:Oh sweet Christ she's actually fucking calling him "The Commander" instead of using his real name. Just like Eli. Lol at "I found his real name" no shit he says it in every other video. "The Commander"... Call it what you want, she's totally going tsundere for him. Can we please start flooding the Jezebel comments with JaceXBrianna romance fics now? Only partially joking.
