Null, you spent sometime in Slav lands. Would you go to a Russian hospital for any reason, much less to recover from addiction?
Ukrainian hospitals, and presumably Russian hospitals, offer both standard and experimental procedures at an affordable cost. The medical universities there are about the same quality and some westerners move their practice there because the government oversight and pharmaceutical meddling in medical affairs in the US overbearing.

I'm scratching my head as to why so many non-SJWs seem to dislike him, yes sometimes he says stupid shit, but I'd say he's said more thought provoking stuff than not, at the very least he really boiled it down by stating that SJW's ultimate goal is "equality of outcome" and not equality of opportunity.

I had hoped that maybe, just maybe, he would be the guy to turn the tide against SJW culture, his severe flameout is highly depressing and really speaks to the dark nature of our times, sometimes the modern world really does feel like an utterly hopeless place.

He addresses many culturally significant issues but never touches on race or the importance of Trump's Chosen people in government, so people who consider themselves racial realists or "J-woke" hate him. He also has a history doing work for the UN, which anti-Globalist people will obviously despise. If you follow this line of thinking, Peterson is likely a UN/CIA plant whose objective is to train young men to look away from race.

But let's just be realistic, the topic of race and Trump's Chosen People is completely radioactive in mainstream media and culture, if he went in that direction he would have been deplatformed really quick.

At least he was willing to offer some much needed pushback against feminism and tranny hysteria.

Calling him a UN/CIA plant seems like a pretty absurd conspiracy theory to me.

Have you ever read anything he wrote on Pinocchio?
I've heard him talk about it in some of his videos but have not read anything, what's supposed to be the problem?

I think he could survive this from a moral stance, getting addicted to prescription drugs isn't like getting caught with a gay hooker.
The real story here is it was always likely to end this way. I have no idea why he decided to go on such an aggressively expansive world tour for such a long time, knowing his own mental inconsistencies and problems. It's like Jesus Christ how much money is enough? Tickets for the Zizek debate were like $200 each, and he was clearly stretched too thin even then.
Jordan the media whore.

I'll be criticized for this, but I would not go to Russia. It seems like a poor choice for an American, a very dangerous one. You'd have to be extremely brave or desperate to go. Putin is very dangerous and Russia's reputation proceeds itself.
lolwat? As an American who lived in a remote Siberian city and also in Moscow, I can tell you people's irrational fear of Russia is super exaggerated. I put my hands in my pocket to cover my wallet the first week I was there, but then I realized the people walking down the street there aren't really any different from the ones walking down the street here. The worst thing a tourist has to fear is some drunk gopnik hitting on his girlfriend or a cop asking for a bribe (Russian police are orders of magnitude more corrupt than western ones).

It's a generally safe country, mostly because it's fairly ethnically homogenous and entirely culturally homogenous. Their murder rate generally floats up and down close to that of the US, and our general crime rate tends to be higher. Putin is only dangerous to his political enemies, especially those running against him and criticizing him in the media. An average person can walk into Red Square and yell "FUCK PUTIN" in front of cops, and the worst that'll happen is they'll tell you to leave.

Peterson will be safe. Putin might even come visit him to get some clout with the young American men who like him. I highly recommend people vacation in Russia at least once. It's a kickass country with great food, beautiful architecture, and friendly people (once you get over them rarely smiling). I miss it all the time.

I dislike him for a couple of reasons, The first of him changing his personality and religious ''intensity'' to appeal to Americans. I used to watch him on a Canadian talk show (when he'd make appearances) years ago and he really wasn't all that religious, political or divisive. He gave rather mundane advice like ''How to talk to your kids''.

The second reason I dislike him is his dismissive attitude towards struggling people (which is somewhat ironic now). He keeps telling young people to pull up their pants and clean house when he doesn't seem to realize generation z and the younger Millennials are actually quite put upon. They're facing a housing crisis with skyrocketing rent and wages that haven't moved in one decade. Neo-liberal policies (which have existed for quite sometime) which Jordan ''supports'' are further crippling social mobility. It is getting more and more impossible to move up classes on your own. Years ago a person born poor could work and put them selves through school eventually reaching the middle class. That is becoming impossible.

Any criticism of trickle down economics and the rising cost of living makes you a ''socialist'' in Kermit's books. ''Work harder''. He also focuses on the trannies as a sort of a deflection.

It will be interesting to see how many of his public statements are now written off as the result of a "poor reaction to psych meds (read: addiction)"

I suspect all of the ones that cause him reputational or professional damage, but all of the statements he can trade on for lecture fees will still stand unblemished by benzos

Peterson always seemed like a less interesting version of Joseph Campbell, and less insightful version of thelastpsychiatrist.

I'm frankly embarrassed for him, however, his wife is dying and he's gone off and made it worse by getting "Treatment." He was probably fine, but addicted - nothing wrong with being comfortably numb while waiting for a loved one to die. The time to deal with it wasn't now while she's alive and needs him but later when he can safely fall apart.

Otherwise he supplied meaning for people who would have been better off finding relief in an old religion like Catholicism before Vatican II or the Orthodox Church.

Benzos are scary and going to be the next big round of lawsuits after the lawyers are done with the Sackler family.

Isn't the maximum prescribed dosage of Xanax 4mg per day? His reaction and withdrawals sounds like someone bulding up the tolerance to take between 10-20 tabs per day.
I work with lots of people who take this shit (it's either that or drink). No, if you're a long time user stoping can have unforeseen consequences. Like going into a coma, or dying. One woman I knew had surgery and didn't tell her Dr the extent of her Xanax use, she didn't wake up from anesthesia for a week, had to be detoxed, and now has life-long problems stemming from her withdrawal. Opiates are fucking bad but all they do is kill you, otherwise you can always be a maintenance addict and get by.

A lot of his lectures and about self awareness, control, and taking care of yourself, so I think the distinction between psychological addiction and a physical addiction made sense. Some people domt understand the route of addiction or what position his body is in, criticize his will power, and use this as a way to call his teachings moot. I dont think hes trying to excuse or hide the word "addiction", I think that distinction and description is helpful and accurate.

But he clearly is/was psychologically addicted to (dependent on) the pills. That psychological dependency led to physical addiction. His psyche couldn't handle a personal health matter and turned to pills to deal with it. Then an unfortunate family health matter happened and his psyche was so dependent on the pills to handle life's hard moments that he had the dose increased. He's not an idiot, he knew what a long-term relationship with benzos will do to a person, yet he still made the decision to up the dose to deal with life. That's psychological dependency. He will need to acknowledge and address the psychological aspect that drove him into physical addiction, otherwise what happens the next time life throws hard shit at his feet?

He's got really stupid hot takes on media. If you want an example, look up his autistic take on Frozen. Everything else is poli-sperging imo.
