Are we sure he likes straight shota? He paid thousands of dollars to a teenage boy producing CP for "journalism", after all.

Which is why I still think the hentai thing was an attempt to throw people off the scent. Kurt may not be smart but he's shown a certain amount of base animal cunning, and he figured that if he could get known for some harmless but memetic perversion people would focus on that rather than the kiddy diddling he did.

Has it been mentioned that Kurt writes his own Wikipedia? This is the most hilarious citation I’ve ever seen. “According to Kurt (with no documents or other evidence he’s not talking out his ass) Kurt won a multimillion dollar lawsuit against someone with no money.” The citation is Kurt’s Twitter... Plus the article doesn’t show any real controversy over the payment of Justin Berry or him being the admin of the child porn site. It also leaves out being humiliated by Tucker Carlson and his hentai debacle. Wikipedia

He managed to bully an indigent defendant into a $100,000 settlement. I'd assume he picked that number out of a hat just so he could say "six figures" as if anyone gives a shit and as if it somehow makes him look good, the seizure-riddled pederast.

I was going to say: he could get a 1 billion dollar settlement and it wouldn’t mean shit if the unemployed defendant couldn’t pay. And I find this story questionable as we STILL haven’t seen any medical records showing Kurt had this seizure

To be much more fair to him than is warranted, Kurt actually did some reporting at one time, including some about a deluded, self-important FBI informant that became a book, and then a movie starring Matt Damon.

Then Trump and CP and hentai and the Kurt we know and make fun of happened. So his fifteen minutes came from something else, and it's more likely his desperate attempts to stay relevant have turned him into the guy he wrote about, but worse.

I genuinely think his brain got fried somewhere along the way. Possibly from epilepsy (though I can never shake the feeling that he severely over hypes how bad he has it), or maybe drugs or something else but in this case I think Occam's razor probably applies. He was most likely always a Machiavellian wannabe moron with delusions of intellectual grandeur, but in the past he was at least smart and sane enough to keep his shit under wraps and put legitimate effort into his work. At some point though shit obviously changed, and that's when the fucking awful decision making came into play.

Maybe the courts know something we don't, but this has in my opinion always been the biggest plot hole in this story. I don't know much about Burger courts and Burger legal procedure (maybe @AnOminous can help here), but wouldn't it be in the prosecution's interest to have Kurt completely examined by a court appointed/approved doctor and go through the hospital records? Even if both the hospital and the court's doc confirm both Kurt's account of the giffing event and severity of his alleged epilepsy to be bullshit (which I'm convinced it is), the prosecution could still easily nail Ravioli for attempted (aggravated) assault.

Kurt is the kind of person you don't know if as a child he got the belt too much or not enough.

It’s quite possible Kurt did have a seizure, but we don’t know any of his medical history or what could trigger it. Maybe Kurt has a seizure that day and him or his wife decided “that evil alt-right guy sent me a strobing gif, let me open that up and say he did it!” I feel like there must be some sort of setting you can put on your browser or twitter that would prevent flashing images for this very reason.

Plus, with how histrionic Kurt is, I’m sure if there was any evidence or way to try to garner sympathy he would provide it. I love how he makes it seem like he was targeted for his “reporting” when this was right after Tucker Carlson and the guy was just a troll. I really don’t think the alt-right has any interest in Kurt Eichenwald other than he’s jewish (or is perceived to be jewish) and making fun of him is so easy. “My physical damage continues to this day” (citation needed).

I don't remember how Twitter was back in 2016 (if I'm not mistaken), but if animated images were being played by default back then, I can somehow buy that he could have been flashed. If said giffing resulted in a seizure is something I remain skeptical of. As for Kurt's medical history, the doctor-patient confidentiality could explain the lack of it, but I don't know how far it goes in Burgerstan and if could be subpoenaed. However, the fact that Kurt and his lawyer claimed that the giffing left him unable to properly speak for weeks in spite of appearing just a few days later on Good Morning America with neither visible nor audible impairments, is an interesting trivia many people, including the Internet Historian, noticed.

I'm willing to bet money that there wouldn't have been this wave of copycats if Hentai Weebenwald had not made such a melodrama out of this incident but just kept quiet and let the cops do their job. I might be wrong, but I distinctly remember that when he caught wind of Metokur doing his Internet Insanity videos on him back in the day, he gave everyone a heads up about how some "alt-right/Russian troll" is going after him. He's an unbelievable attention whore or an honest do God paranoid schizophrenic. Or both.

HIPAA info can be subpoenaed. I know at least some states, and I would assume all, have motions that can be filed to keep it protected. HIPAA is not binding by non-HIPAA organizations. The government is not a HIPAA compliant organization, although maybe health and human service department are or have elements which are. They would be governed by public record laws like FOIA. The court would have surely have subpoenaed the the necessary medical records. Whether they would make it into the public record is something a lawyer would have to answer. Someone could get a copy of his case to see as well.

I would argue that he's more of a moron if this theory is true. If anything the hentai shit only drew more attention to him, making more people look into his past. It also helped bolster and give the CP accusations a leg to stand on since it only provided more evidence that he's a sexual deviant.

If the hentai incident was just an OP, he ultimately failed in what he was trying to accomplish.

I haven't seen any such records, but the docket search is currently broken for the trial court.
WX19-00076-L is the trial court record in Dallas County and 05-19-00676-CR is the docket number on appeal in the Fifth District Court of Appeals.

http://search.txcourts.gov/Case.aspx?cn=05-19-00676-CR&coa=coa05 is the docket at the Court of Appeals.

This is the most recent opinion denying a pretrial writ of habeas corpus to stop the case entirely on the grounds of unconstitutionality.

This doesn't mean the trial court will ultimately accept Kurt's made up bullshit, just that an appeals court isn't stopping the case before trial. I haven't looked at the criminal docket in months but I don't recall seeing even a whiff of anything resembling medical evidence that this lying sack of shit actually had a seizure.

So did Kurt win or not? It just seems like bullshit he made up to make himself look good.

Because, IMHO, him winning 6 figures over a gif induced seizure would be pretty big news. And yet he's not posting any sources to his bullshit. And for Kurt to even win that amount, he'd have to prove his history with seizures is legit and show that his condition resulted in him not being able to work. And a good lawyer would point out that he was able to make an appearance on GMA days after being giffed in the first degree when he claims he wasn't able to speak for weeks afterwards.

He might have gotten a default judgment. It's a stupid enough lawsuit that I could see the defendant not even bothering to show up (never a good idea, of course).

Also, can someone tell Kurt that winning a six figure settlement over someone who's judgment proof is nothing to brag about?

Unless I misunderstood things, it has been almost four years (as I'm writing this post) since the incident and the trial hasn't even started yet. Will they even have time to go after the rest of the Trumpian Russian assault-.gif cabal at this rate? I've seen war crime trials getting resolved quicker than that.

While personally I don't see Rivello getting acquitted - though it would be funny if he somehow did just to see Weebenwald have another meltdown - I really hope someone brings attention to the lack of medical evidence and the GMA interview during the trial.

It didn't, though. You're applying the workings of this thread and site, where digging into peoples' past once they've caught our attention, is typical. Most people don't do that. Hell even in this thread, where we do just that, he still gets called Tentacle Kurt far more than Pedo Kurt or anything else. People don't want to think, they don't want to investigate, they just want something catchy and funny they can guffaw about, a hyuk-hyuk may-may they can run into the ground. I don't doubt his training in journalistic hooks gave him the idea to throw the shallow gigglers a nice distracting bone to gnaw specifically so that it would occupy their attention.

You can claim he failed all you like, but you're objectively wrong. Look at his twitter feed and see how many of the comments are mocking him for tentacle porn versus how many of them are calling him out on raping children. There will always be dozens of the former but few if any of the latter.

I think that this is a pretty good wisdom regarding most of the people we follow on this site. It's like noseblindness but for internet insanity.

Most people don't remember the horrifying or really heinous shit outside of this autism factory, just the things that make them laugh the most.
