It's sometimes hilarious, sometimes hilarious dark, and sometimes just dark.

To prevent Iran from going nuclear, intelligence officer John Tavner must forgo all safety nets and assume a perilous "non-official cover" -- that of a mid-level employee at a Midwestern industrial piping firm.

It also stars the dudes that played John Lock in Lost and the dad from That 70's Show. The humor is on point, they have a great mix between the spy story, his life under cover, his personal life and his PTSD release valve, folk music. Specifically really earnest songs about the shit he's going through.

Because of the folk singing aspect of it and the cinematography sometimes the series edges a bit on mumblecore territory. This feels like this could have been a movie Mark Duplass filmed at times. And I mean that in a good way.

That's only some of the times and it never overstays its welcome. There are some good spy scenes, the dialogue is on point and it's frequently a really funny show. Acting is top notch and they have managed to cram in plenty of surprising twists and shit you wouldn't expect to happen

Oh and as a whole, it feels unique. Which is really rare not to feel like a retread (despite the fargo meets spies analogy).
